Cycling in London

Here's my competition entry for a poster design to promote cycling in London. When I visited London I found the underground the most confusing, time consuming part. So I chose to use this in my design. I also used the words "I want to ride my..." to relate to the well known Queen song, Bicycle. I used soft pastels for the background as these are my favourite material to work with. I then used marker to draw the underground lines on to give a bold, clean look whilst also keeping the hand drawn effect. I cleaned it up in photoshop and added a text similar to the one used on the London Underground map.
